Destination Canada

Canada is well-known by travellers for the beauty of its landscapes,with for example the Ontario lake and the famous Niagara falls. Canadian people are usually very nice and friendly.
Our sites are located in the British Columbia state, that is to say on the west coast of Canada. One of our sites is inside Vancouver and the two others are around the Vancouver's island.

	Vancouver : Vancouver is located on the south-west of Canada, and is circled by the Fraser river, by the Georgia detroit and by a lot of mountains. The city is situated at only 38 kms of the United states border. Our rental site is located on the Granville's island, at only 100 meters of Vancouver's downtown. From this site , you can easily cruise to the Vancouver's island or even going to the Pacific Ocean by using the Georgia's detroit.
	Desolation Sound : A lot of sailors believe that this area is one of the nicest in the world. This beautiful fjords are surrounding by summits higher than 2000 meters. You maybe will be able to see some seals on the rocks, some eagles in the air, some orcas in the wate in addition to dolphins and whales. Our rental bases is located at Powell River, on the south of the Desolation Sound's Park.
	Gulf Island : It is a place with beautiful lanscapes where you can see big mountains just behind you,nice beaches, and some great water falls. Cruising conditions are good and the sweet and dry climate is the best of the region. Our sites is located at Sidney, on the south of the Vancouver 's island. It's the best starting point if you want to go to the canadian's Gulf Islands and to the American's San Juan Islands.

Money

The local currency is the canadian dollar. If ou want to buy some travellers checks, it's better to buy them directly in canadian dollars (because they will be acceptes almost everywhere). But ther's a few commission of approximatively 2,50 $Ca per check = 1,6 €.
- The exchange rate is: 1 $Ca = 0,66€.
- Banks are open from monday to wednesday from 10 h until 15 h and and from thursda to friday from 10 h until 18 h or 20 h. They all have an ATM available 24 h/24.

Visa
If you are a wester european or an european union member, you do not need any visa if you want to stay less than 6 months for turistic reasons. You just need to present a valid passport or I.D.For all the others nationalities, its better to get information before.If you wanna go to the United states for turistic purpose, you don''t need any visa for a less than 3 months trip.

Health :
There's no particular risk in Canada.
Don't forget to take a travel insurance in case of accident or serious illness.

Electricity

Power is on 110 V, you just need an adapter if tou want to use european plugs.

Climate
Brtish Columbia and the Vancouver'island have a temperate climate with sweet and rainy winters. During the summer, temperatures can reach up to 35°C or even 40°C .

Conditions for renting a boat
If you want to rent a sailboat or a motorboat, you need a sailing licence or a boat licence.
